Joint Project Between Marmara University and the University of Copenhagen: Building Intercultural Bridges in Education

Between November 12-16, 2024, as part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Mobility (BIP) program, a learning mobility event titled "Building Cultural Bridges - Education in Denmark and Türkiye" was held. This event brought Assoc. Prof. Dr. Klaus Kofoed-Heller, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jørn Dam, Mikkel Clausen, and 14 students from University College Copenhagen (UCC) to our faculty. The event was organized by the Preschool Education Department of the Department of Primary Education at Marmara University's Atatürk Faculty of Education.

The event began with a welcome speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Özge Ünsal Aksebzeci from the Preschool Education Department. Following this, the opening speech was delivered by our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Seyfi Kenan, who emphasized the importance of intercultural encounters and highlighted the role of such projects in creating common values in education. After the Dean's speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Klaus Kofoed-Heller from UCC shared insights about the Danish education system, and the program continued with workshops involving participating students. Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Pınar Başkan from the Department of English Language Teaching also contributed to the program by enriching the students' discussions with her students.

The collaboration was highly productive, and discussions regarding the continuation of this partnership were shared.
