Guest Lecture by Prof. Dr. Claus Altmayer from Leipzig University in the Department of German Language Education

The Department of German Language Education at Marmara University hosted Prof. Dr. Claus Altmayer from the Herder Institute, Department of German as a Foreign and Second Language at Leipzig University, as a guest lecturer between December 2–6, 2024.

During his visit, Prof. Dr. Claus Altmayer conducted two classes with students from the Department of German Language Education, focusing on country studies and culture-based learning in the context of German as a foreign language.

In addition, he led a workshop on “Culture-Based Foreign Language Teaching and Dhoch3” with the participation of faculty members from both Marmara University and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa’s Department of German Language Education. The workshop facilitated productive knowledge exchange and discussions on potential collaborative projects between the two universities.
