Invited by the Department of Art Education at the Atatürk Faculty of Education, internationally renowned artist Prof. Süleyman Saim TEKCAN delivered a conference titled “Reflections on Art Education” on Tuesday, April 8, at the Dr. İbrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall on the Göztepe Campus.

Following the opening speech by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Seyfi KENAN, the conference was attended by numerous academics, students, and guests.

As one of the founding professors of the Department of Art Education, Prof. Süleyman Saim TEKCAN highlighted the importance and necessity of art education through his inspiring memories, while also shedding light on the history and current state of art education in Turkey.

At the end of the conference, our esteemed professor Prof. Süleyman Saim TEKCAN was presented with a certificate of appreciation by our Dean, a commemorative plate from our faculty, and flowers by Prof. Dr. Evren Daşdağ, Head of the Department of Art Education; Prof. Dr. Mustafa USLU, Head of the Department; and retired faculty member Prof. Dr. Bünyamin ÖZGÜLTEKİN.
