In this project, the students drew inspiration from the legacy of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Republic and the 105th anniversary of May 19 – Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, created 19 portraits of Atatürk using recycled materials. These works highlighted the importance of environmental sustainability and were produced within the context of the Art Education Technologies and Material Design course.
Through their works, the students aimed to educate and inspire the community by demonstrating the potential of waste materials and the expressive power of art. With this project, the Art Education Department of Atatürk Faculty of Education takes a meaningful step toward raising societal awareness and presenting a future-oriented vision under the light of Atatürk, through sustainable art.
