Seminar with the University of Copenhagen Faculty of Education

On April 15, 2024, Andreas Kopp, a faculty member from the University of Copenhagen Faculty of Education, and accompanying history teacher candidates visited the Department of Turkish Language and Social Sciences Education, History Education Division, at our faculty.

The visit began with a welcoming speech by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Seyfi Kenan. Prof. Dr. Kenan provided the visitors with information about our faculty and its departments. After sharing insights on the development of teacher education in Turkey, Prof. Dr. Kenan presented a plaque and a gift to the visitors on behalf of our faculty.

Following the visit to the Dean's office, the program moved to the Hikmet Savcı Building of the Atatürk Education Faculty for the second part. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akif Pamuk, Chair of the History Education Division, and Research Assistant Cahide Kayış shared the general features of the history teacher training approach with the visitors. After a presentation on history education and teaching programs in Turkey by Ph.D. student Uzman Leyla Es Baki, the visitors had the opportunity to ask questions.

The program concluded with discussions on potential future collaborations between the two institutions.
